These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the ForeTale mobile app and the foretale.app website (together, the “Service”), provided by {{OPERATOR_LEGAL_NAME}} (“ForeTale,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Please read them carefully.

1. Accepting these Terms
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and the parent or legal guardian of any child whose information you enter. You are responsible for supervising your child's use of any content created with the Service.
3. The Service
ForeTale lets you generate personalised, illustrated social stories, keep characters consistent across stories, and organise stories into a daily-routine calendar. We may add, change, or remove features over time to improve the Service.
4. AI-generated content
Stories and illustrations are produced using artificial intelligence. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular child, and it may occasionally differ from what you intended. You are responsible for reviewing each story before your child sees it, and for deciding whether it is appropriate for your family. Do not rely on the Service for medical, safety, legal, or emergency guidance.
5. Your account
You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your login secure, and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly at support@foretale.app if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to create content that is unlawful, harmful, or abusive;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service;
- use the Service to infringe others' rights or violate applicable law; or
- resell or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.
7. Subscriptions & billing
ForeTale offers a free tier with a limited number of stories and an optional paid subscription that unlocks additional use. Subscriptions are sold and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, subject to their terms — we do not receive or store your payment-card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds, where available, are handled according to the policies of the app store you purchased through.
- Prices and plan details are shown in the app before you purchase and may change on a going-forward basis.
8. Your content & ownership
The stories, illustrations, schedules, and profiles you create are yours to use for your family's personal, non-commercial purposes. You grant us the limited permission needed to host, process, and display that content so we can provide the Service to you (for example, storing your stories and generating illustrations).
9. Our intellectual property
The ForeTale name, logo, software, and design are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding except as needed to use the Service.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will meet your expectations. As noted above, ForeTale is not a medical device and does not provide professional advice.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ForeTale and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service and its users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of {{GOVERNING_LAW_STATE}}, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
